Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
In last week’s bulletin we were discussing relativism, a mentality that traps people without them knowing, making them believe that everything is good, this causes a conformity that harms in the long run. This week we’ll be discussing relativism in religious music. Regarding choirs in church, we can also see this trend of relativism. Some choirs sing protestant chants for the mass, mixing what is the most sacred to our faith with Protestant mentality. They don’t do this to cause any harm, they just simply don’t know that it is not allowed. It is a reality that protestant sects seek to discredit the Catholic Church to gain followers. Some extremist protestant mentality goes as far as qualifying our Church the great Babylon, insulting the Church with harsh expressions therefore anything they may offer cannot be compatible with our faith.
It is very common that Catholics attend Protestant singers concerts, arguing that it is the same God. However, I've never seen a protestant sing catholic songs, especially those dedicated to our Blessed Mother or that speak about the glory of the Eucharist. Could it be that they are actually more intelligent and they take care of their spirituality by not contaminating it with things outside of what they believe in?
The first thing that we have to understand is the meaning of the word truth: St. Thomas Aquinas states that truth is "the conformity of the mind to the object"; that is, if we accept the outward information that our senses are transmitting to our intellect, and our intellect accepts these as they are, and doesn't deny them or distort them, through self interest or other motives. "The true and the false reside not in things, but in the intellect."

Relativismo Parte 2
Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
En el boletín anterior estábamos hablando del relativismo, una mentalidad que atrapa sin que se den cuenta las personas, haciéndoles creer que todas las cosas son buenas, esto provoca un acomodamiento que daña al largo plazo. Hablaremos del relativismo en la música religiosa
En el ámbito de los coros de las iglesias, también se nota mucho esta tendencia. Los coros cantan cantos protestantes en la misa, Mezclando lo más sagrado con la mentalidad protestante. No lo hacen con maldad, porque no están instruidos. Es una realidad que a nivel mundial las sectas protestantes buscan desprestigiar a la Iglesia Católica para ganar adeptos. La califican de prostituta, de la gran babilonia, por lo tanto, no puede ser compatible con nuestra fe.
Es muy común que los feligreses asistan a conciertos de cantantes protestantes, argumentando que se le canta al mismo Dios. Jamás he visto un protestante cantar la Guadalupana o una espiga dorada por el sol. ¿Será que ellos sí son inteligentes y cuidan su espiritualidad de no contaminarla con mentalidades distorsionadas?
Lo primero que tenemos que entender el significado de la palabra verdad: Según Santo Tomás de Aquino, la verdad es la adecuación de la cosa con el intelecto adecuatio rei intelectum… El intelecto recibe una información previa, para verificar si lo que está recibiendo, se adecúa con la información que recibió anteriormente...
