Man was created to live together with God and to dialogue with Him: what makes it possible to realize this noble vocation is prayer. The Second Vatican Council, in the Constitution Gaudium Et Spes, reveals to us the profound reason for man's need to pray. Man was created to be with God and to dialogue with Him: prayer allows man to realize this end from now on.
“The highest reason for human dignity is man's vocation to union with God. From his very birth, man is invited to dialogue with God. Man exists purely and simply for the love of God, who believes it, and for the love of God who preserves it. And it can only be said that he lives in the fullness of truth when he freely recognizes that love and is entrusted entirely to his Creator.” (GS 19)
It is a vital union with God, without which man is not a man. From this life we can and must be united to God, through his presence in us who excludes sin and leads us to act well wherever we are. Realizing that God is in us or wants to enter into our lives necessarily provokes dialogue with Him. God's presence in us and dialogue with Him are inseparable. Prayer is not so much as to ask to obtain something from God or to be better, but to dialogue with Him and to realize with Him that union that allows us to live our fundamental vocation of men.
Therefore, prayer is not a prerogative of privileged souls, but of every man, who was created by God to live with Him from this life to eternity. Man is normal when he lives talking to God.
“It is necessary to pray always without fainting.” (Lk 18, 1), “Pray constantly.” (1 TS 5, 17)
This means that prayer is not a series of acts, but a state of life, which makes man constantly before God.
“Praying”, Voillaume says,” is to think of God loving him.” Let us understand that entering into prayer is to enter into the dialogue that is among the Persons of the Most Holy Trinity. This is possible by letting the Holy Spirit enter into our lives, so that it may be He who keeps this dialogue alive. True evangelization must not only lead man to church and to do works of charity, but also to transform him into a man of prayer. Without this dialogue with God, this intimate union with Him, the evangelized man will soon forget the teachings received and return to his primitive state of practicing atheist.
Prayer must be one of the most important objectives of evangelization so that the new man may continue to receive light and strength to live in his environment as Christ has taught him.
Necesidad de la Oracion
El hombre fue creado para vivir unido a Dios y para dialogar con El: lo que hace posible realizar esta noble vocación es la oración. El Concilio Vaticano II en la Constitución Gaudium Et Spes, nos descubre el motivo profundo de la necesidad que tiene el hombre de orar. El hombre fue creado para estar con Dios y dialogar con El: la oración permite al hombre realizar desde ahora este fin.
La razón más alta de la dignidad humana, consiste en la vocación del hombre a la unión con Dios. Desde su mismo nacimiento, el hombre es invitado al dialogo con Dios. Existe pura y simplemente por el amor de Dios, que lo creo, y por el amor de Dios que lo conserva. Y solo se puede decir que vive en la plenitud de la verdad cuando reconoce libremente ese amor y se confía por entero a su Creador. (GS 19)
Se trata de una unión vital con Dios, sin la cual el hombre no es hombre. Desde esta vida podemos y debemos estar unidos a Dios, mediante su presencia en nosotros que excluye el pecado y lleva a actuar bien donde quiera que nos encontremos. El darnos cuenta de que Dios está en nosotros o quiere entrar en nuestra vida, suscita necesariamente el dialogo con El. La presencia de Dios en nosotros y el dialogo con El son inseparables. La oración no es tanto un pedir para obtener alfo de Dios o para ser más buenos, sino un dialogar con El y realizar con El aquella unión que nos permite vivir nuestra vocación fundamental de hombres.
Por lo tanto, la oración no es una prerrogativa de las almas privilegiadas, sino de todo hombre, que fue creado por Dios para vivir con El desde esta vida hasta la eternidad. El hombre es normal cuando vive platicando con Dios.
Es preciso orar siempre sin desfallecer. (Lc 18, 1) , Oren constantemente. (1 TS 5, 17)
Esto quiere decir que la oración no es una serie de actos, sino un estado de vida, que hace que el hombre este constantemente ante Dios.
Rezar, dice Voillaume, es pensar en Dios amándolo. Entendamos que entrar en la oración es entrar en el dialogo que hay entre las Personas de la Santísima Trinidad. Esto es posible dejando al Espíritu Santo entrar en nuestra vida, para que sea El quien mantenga vivo este dialogo. La verdadera evangelización no debe llevar solamente al hombre a la iglesia y a realizar obras de caridad, sino también a transformarlo en hombre de oración. Sin este dialogo con Dios, esta unión íntima con El, el hombre evangelizado pronto olvidará las enseñanzas recibidas y volverá a su primitivo estado de ateo practicante.
La oración debe ser uno de los objetivos más importantes de la evangelización para que el hombre nuevo continúe recibiendo luz y fuerza para vivir en su medio ambiente como Cristo le ha enseñado.
