The previous week we celebrated Jesus Christ king of the universe, and now we are on the first Sunday of Advent, a strong time of preparation to receive the Savior of the world. Returning to the theme of Jesus Christ King of the universe: Do we recognize that Jesus is king of the universe? Where in the kingdom are we located? Are we within the universe that God is reigning? Does Christ really reign? Does Christ really reign in our families, schools, jobs, our young people, our lives, and our society? St. John is aware that we must fight to build the kingdom of God, because he knows perfectly well that the Devil reigns in this world (Jn 5:19).
This time of advent that begins must be to deepen how we must prepare to receive Jesus Christ who will be born for universal salvation. The word Advent comes from the Latin adventum, which means "arrival". Three dimensions we can meditate on Advent, we must consider the historical Advent; it is the arrival of Jesus Christ made flesh by the work of the Holy Spirit in Mary. In short, we are talking about the arrival of the historical Jesus. Mystic Advent is the arrival of Jesus in our souls. Christ is born in our hearts and renews our whole life. Finally we have escatological Advent, it is Advent that prepares us for the definitive coming of the Savior, where it will reign forever and ever.
During these four weeks we will be pondering some very important points: the first Sunday will meditate on the vigilance awaiting the coming of the Savior. On the second Sunday, conversion will be spoken and as an impotent note, he will highlight the preaching of John the Baptist. On the third Sunday, we will see the witness of the precursor remains Jesus and on the fourth Sunday it will be about the proclamation of the birth of Jesus to Joseph and Mary.
Lo que celebramos en la Iglesia… ¿realmente lo celebramos?
La semana anterior celebramos a Jesucristo rey del universo, y ahora estamos en el primer domingo de Adviento, un tiempo fuerte de preparación para recibir al Salvador del mundo. Regresando al tema de Jesucristo Rey del universo: ¿Reconocemos que Jesús es rey del universo? ¿En qué parte del reino estamos ubicados? ¿Estamos dentro del universo que Dios está reinando? ¿Realmente Cristo reina? ¿Realmente Cristo reina en nuestras familias, escuelas, trabajos, en nuestros jóvenes, en nuestras vidas y en nuestra sociedad? San juan está consciente de que debemos luchar por construir el reino de Dios, porque sabe perfectamente que el Diablo reina en este mundo (Jn 5, 19).
Este tiempo de adviento que inicia debe ser para profundizar sobre cómo debemos prepararnos para recibir a Jesucristo que nacerá para la salvación universal. La palabra Adviento procede del latín adventum, qué significa “llegada". Tres dimensiones podemos meditar sobre la Adviento, debemos de considerar el Adviento histórico; es la llegada de Jesucristo hecho carne por obra del Espíritu Santo en María. En pocas palabras, estamos hablando de la llegada del Jesús histórico. El Adviento Místico es la llegada del Jesús a nuestras almas. Cristo nace en nuestro corazón y renueva toda nuestra vida. Finalmente tenemos el Adviento escatológico, es el Adviento que nos prepara hacia la venida definitiva del Salvador, donde reinará por siempre jamás.
Durante estas cuatro semanas estaremos meditando algunos puntos muy importantes: el primer domingo se meditará sobre la vigilancia en espera de la venida del Salvador. En el segundo domingo, se hablará de la conversión y como nota impotente, resaltará la predicación de Juan Bautista. En el tercer domingo, veremos el testimonio del precursor queda Jesús y en el cuarto domingo se tratará sobre el anuncio del nacimiento de Jesús a José y a María.
